  11. Welcome to the world of "kaos," a dynamical system toolkit!!!
  12.  
  13. This package is the product of years of research and development 
  14. efforts by the authors in investigating a set of problems in 
  15. dynamical systems.
  16.  
  17. The kaos toolkit provides a user-friendly, efficent graphic 
  18. interface to a collection of numerical and graphical tools for 
  19. investigating dynamical systems. Sophisticated numerical algorithms 
  20. are enhanced by an easy-to-use interface, and kaos provides the 
  21. means to save and manage data in a manner which is both fast and 
  22. concise.

  24. The kaos package is both general and flexible.  Users may define 
  25. their own dynamical system by editing a single subroutine.  The 
  26. first attempt to install a new dynamical system into kaos is usually 
  27. completed in about thirty minutes. Many other apsects of  kaos are 
  28. also customizable. The program has slots for various algorithms and 
  29. procedures to be installed by the user.

  31. This is by no means a finished product. We expect to add many new
  32. features in coming months. The beta version of the package is 
  33. planned to be released in the summer of 1990. We welcome 
  34. comments on the program design and suggestions to improve the
